Since 1996, Filta has been providing cooking oil micro filtration service around the world to restaurants and other food establishments. Filta’s “Green” services naturally preserve the environment by extending the life of cooking oil with the FiltaFry service, turning waste cooking oil into biodiesel with FiltaBio and reducing energy consumption and food waste with FiltaCool. Filta services over 5,000 customers every week and has recycled over 1/3 billion pounds of oil… and counting.
This business is fully functional without the need to lease office space. Currently all supplies are stored in a garage. - About the Territory: The franchise territory is all of Snohomish County including Camano Island. Currently serve 15 different customers per week with 15 scheduled stops per week. There are no other competitors in my market.
Filta has little to no competition in most markets. We are in a “recession proof” market place being in the food service industry. Our customers love the fact that we provide them with a cost effective solution to their oil/fryer management, we reduce accidents in their kitchens, provide them with cleaner fryers, and we offer the only “bin free” waste oil removal system. Franchisee’s love that we visit our customers on average 1-2 times each week, and that there are multiple revenue stream opportunities from each customer. Franchisees operate their Franchises in protected Territories.
Filta currently operates 135 units in the US and are in 27 countries worldwide and that number continues to grow. The high frequency of visits for each customer makes it so that a single van or unit does not need a significantly large customer base to operate efficiently. That means that there is a lot of growing left to do and a lot of customers left to service. As we continue to develop our national account systems and other positive relationships, there will also be a need for additional kitchen solutions which we will be prepared to provide. To our Franchisees, that means there are both vertical and horizontal revenue increasing opportunities.
Filta provides the knowledge and tools necessary for success. Franchisees are provided with a comprehensive 2 week training program. The training includes a classroom session that covers: Business planning, sales and marketing, scheduling and routing, oil chemistry, fryer management, best safety practices, the HR function, accounting, and unit growth. Following the class, the new owner will attend Field Training with a certified Franchisee Trainer, and they will be immersed in that Franchise Owner’s business to put all of the classroom strategies to work in real life.
