Achieving Success In What You're Passionate About

Tammy Bingham, owner of the Utah Brain Balance Centers knew the success rate of Brain Balance programs through her own personal experience with her two sons. Thrilled with the positive results in her sons Tammy decided to become a Brain Balance franchisee and open her own centers in Utah.

Name: Tammy Bingham
Location: Utah (South Jordan, Pleasant Grove, St. George and Bountiful) Franchise: Brain Balance

Tammy Bingham is the owner of the Utah Brain Balance centers in South Jordan, Pleasant Grove, St. George and Bountiful.

Brain Balance is a non-medical and drug-free approach to overcoming the challenges of various conditions such as ADHD and Asperger Syndrome. The program features several components including sensory-motor training, academic skill training and a clean eating nutrition system.
As a mother of two sons with behavioral and communication difficulties, Tammy was well aware of the trials faced by parents whose children struggle to adapt in school and in social situations. Despite her and her husband’s numerous attempts to address their boys’ issues, they met with no success.
“We had done almost five years of very intensive behavioral therapy, occupational therapy, speech, private schools, nutritional changes, doctors, etc… and we realized we weren’t getting very far. We had spent a lot of time and a lot of money. It got very frustrating and we started to lose hope.”
After hearing about Brain Balance and the success that so many other families had had with the program, Tammy and her husband decided to temporarily move from their Nevada home to Georgia to enrol the boys in the program. After just a few short months, they saw far more progress than anything they had tried over the years had been able to provide.
“When Brain Balance came, the longer we did it, I realised I had a completely new life. We had time and ability to spend time with our family, we could have fun, we could go on a date, we could go on a vacation.”

The Binghams were so thrilled with the progress they saw in their sons that Tammy wanted to make the program accessible to more families. She decided to become a Brain Balance franchisee and open her own centers in Utah.
Tammy says that Brain Balance has changed her life, not only as an owner of the franchise but also through the huge changes she has seen in her sons. Tammy loves hearing positive feedback and news of success from parents and students at her Brain Balance Center about how the program has had an impact on their lives.
“We had a 14-year-old student come into the center and break down in tears thanking us for helping him. He seemed to recognize that we had helped him to create a whole new life path for himself.”

While the role of a Brain Balance owner brings a multitude of rewards and inspiration, like any business, it does have its attendant challenges. One of the main challenges Tammy faces is recruiting people who have the necessary passion for helping struggling children. Also, like many franchisees, Tammy says that in the early stages of the business, it can be hard to find a healthy work/life balance.
“Even the small stories that parents tell us about how their family lives have improved in simple but important ways, how they can get through a family meal without an argument, the siblings are getting along, their child is on the honor roll, is a huge milestone.
To those who would like to become a part of providing this transformational program to children and families across the nation, Tammy says that genuine care and enthusiasm for helping children and families is key.
“Owning your own business takes a lot of effort day-in and day-out. You are going to be way more successful doing something that you love and feel passionate about. The bottom line is that you have to really believe in what you are doing and genuinely care.”
“The most rewarding part about owning a center is seeing families come in and tell you things that they never thought they were going to see. They are able to say, my child had a birthday party and kids actually showed up. Or, my child can read now and he actually likes it and he has a chance of graduating or going to college.”
